Hello folks. Hope you all have been checking out the latest cafes and lounges in town. Temple Lounge, Starbuzz Lounge, Mia Lounge are a few lounges that are highly rated and highly recommended for shisha lovers. As a matter of fact, I have personally visited all the aforementioned lounges and can testify that they are befitting venues.

I am fully aware that I have been quite silent and not released any posts recently. Sorry if I keep boring you all with the same excuse week in week out – I have spent the majority of my time visiting shisha lounges around the country, so that I could then recommend a few to you.

Did you all see the recent headlines? Arsenal’s Marouane Chamakh was pictured in a lounge, holding a shisha pipe with Queen Park’s Rangers’ footballer Adel Taarabt after Arsenal’s shock defeat to the latter’s team. This didn’t go down very well with Arsenal’s chiefs especially Arsene Wenger who was furious about that.

Seems like Wenger was more furious because his team lost than Chamakh’s ‘night out’ with his fellow countryman Taarabt, who scored earlier against Arsenal. Or maybe Wenger was disappointed because Chamakh is already an out-of-favour striker.

Like Wenger, Ranger’s manager Mark Hughes was furious about Taarabt’s involvement in the incident and promised to speak to the player about the incident. Besides shisha smoking is not illegal in the UK.

It’s no surprise that both premier league stars were pictured holding a shisha. Besides, both strikers are Moroccan. If you read the article on the shisha roots, you would realise that shisha originally begun around North Africa and the Middle East.

Arsenal’s Chamakh may be considered a flop in football terms, but he’s no flop when it comes to doing what he loves best – smoking shisha. This news should be very encouraging for all fellow shisha lovers. What if you pop into a lounge someday and find out that Chamakh or some other high profile celebrity was in the same lounge? You will be excited, wouldn’t you?

The interesting fact here is that shisha is widely appreciated not just amongst us, but also amongst premier league footballers. The question many of us are asking ourselves is where such stars go out for a smoke? Indeed, that is my next project. In case I find out, I will share that with you all.

Hello folks. Hope you all have been bracing Learn More

Hello folks. Hope you all have been bracing yourselves especially as the weather now permits us to hide our winter jackets in the cloak room. As a true shisha lover, I regularly visit shisha bars around the country. Imagine this scenario: You step into a lounge and you’re like ‘wow’. That’s how I felt when I visited Just Sheesh lounge. Don’t get too excited.

It’s a start-up shisha lounge in the heart of Walthamstow and already attracts hundreds of visitors across the UK. It could be a perfect venue to watch a football game – the atmosphere is comparable to that of a proper football stadium. They offer an affluent-style large screen 3D projection and show a variety of shows, live games and showbiz.

I reckon you all would appreciate spending on commodities that provide good value of money. As a shisha lover, I guess your number one priority is having a good shisha smoke. Imagine what you could do with £8? Yes, I mean £8. This could guarantee you a custom-made shisha pipe with exotic flavours and juice. Too good to be true.

Before a smoke, it’s always a nice idea to be half-filled up and that’s why Just Sheesh café has a menu that could cover all your feeding requirements – vegetarian, meat lover etc.

Hang on, we half way there. Just Sheesh also sells a huge range of deserts and cakes. Waffles, pasties and brownie blasts are a few additional items that could trigger you to lick your lips.

Just Sheesh is a new place so this could be the perfect time to call in and book a reservation. I tell you why? Because, their promotion scheme has brought them so many repeat customers in the early months. I mean you could be lucky not to meet a queue, especially when there are live shows and special offers.

For those of you who love parties, this could be your soft spot location for private parties. Call in today and book the arena for your event – birthday bash, wedding do, anniversary or whatever social event you may have. The lounge is open from Monday- Sunday and ends at 3:00am during the weekends.

The lounge also provides parking just at the rear of the café so you do not have to worry about parking a quarter of a mile away.

Tell your friend before you meet them there

Hello people. Hope everyone has been bracing themselves Learn More

Hello people. Hope everyone has been bracing themselves and getting their groove on as I am back again to provide you with some special feed. Special thanks again to those of you who write to me on twitter (follow @shishalovers on twitter) and try to share your experiences with me.

All your efforts do not go in vain as I am compiling a list of your suggestions and messages, to share with the other shisha lovers. Check the blog page regularly – you might find something useful. This blog is about hiring shisha loungesfor your interests?

Have you got a wedding coming up? Or rather, anniversary? birthday? Are you planning on bringing all your mates together for a laugh? I’ve got all the answers for you. As a shisha lover, the best place to have such lifetime experiences will be at a shisha lounge or café.

As someone who visits loads of lounges and cafes and who has established relationships with these lounges, I am best placed to recommend a lounge to you. This is obviously based on your projected quantity and budget amongst other requirements.

There are hundreds of shisha lounges in the UK – London, Luton, Manchester and Birmingham – and each lounge is unique in its own way. However, for big events such as weddings (hang on, did I just say wedding?), you would need just the best. These lounges could be transformed into proper halls to cater for your guests, and later transformed into a dancehall.

Simply put, the lounge could designed to match to your taste. All you need to do is share your idea with a recommended lounge and you will be amazed at what you see when you step foot into the lounge.

Hiring a lounge doesn’t necessarily have to be for the big events – could be just for your personal space with your mates. Other facilities such as live projections, flavoured tobacco, belly dancers and music performances can be taken care of once we introduce a lounge to you.

Out of interest, I visited Café Cush shisha lounge on Valentine’s day and I was left speechless with the manner in which they organised the venue. Instantly, I felt I was in love (not really) and this is the kind of reaction to expect once we allocate a lounge best suited to your class and taste.

I’m just an ordinary shisha lover so do not expect me to charge you for speaking to me – I am on a mission to make the world a better place for fellow shisha lovers. You can speak to me, follow me on twitter or leave a message on here and I would get back to you instantly. I am available 24/7 and waiting on your messages and tweets. Hope you have a successful event folks. Remember, lounges are booked on a first come, first serve basis so the earlier the better.

(Follow @shishalovers on twitter)

For those of you that got the news, how did you feel about it? – The government has issued a warning to shisha cafes in Manchester about indoor smoking. A big shout out to all the Manchester shisha lovers.

The borough of Rusholme has seen more than 30 shisha cafes open up in the last 3 years. The excuse by the government is that smoking in enclosed areas is against the law

Two cafes in Rusholme, ‘Shotz Café’ and ‘Blue Mist’ were fined £3000 for allowing customers to smoke shisha in smoke-free areas. The owners had to face the court and were subsequently found guilty of the offence. The government saw this as a ‘warning to other businesses that think they can get away with the law’.

Challenges faced

There are a couple of major concerns raised about hookah smoking: Firstly, there are several shisha cafes that operate illegally. Secondly, local residents to the lounges have also reported anti-social behaviour resulting from shisha cafes operating till early hours of the morning.

In this light, the local councils are working with café owners to make owners fully aware of the consequences of allowing indoor smoking. The councils also claim that they are working with the police, the fire service and HMRC to implement enforcement issues later on in the year.

Given the growing concerns of the illegal hookah cafes, the local councils intends to launch a campaign against the offence as well as shisha smoking as a whole – perceives shisha smoking to be more dangerous than cigarette smoking.

Is this supposed to mean that we should stop smoking shisha? – Of course not. If the government’s intention is to scare away shisha lovers then they should try another trick.

The good thing is that the only area affected so far is Manchester. There are several shisha cafes around the UK. Check out the shisha lounges page.

This brings me to the next topic: Is shisha smoking more harmful than cigarette smoking? I need your opinions on these. Check out my knowledge centre and blog – I will be come up with a blog on that in the coming weeks.

Like I promised, I am back this time to feed you all on what popped up in my mind whilst I was enjoying a shisha smoke. I was having a good time – perfect shisha, perfect tobacco, perfect flavour, perfect lounge and environment but the music was enough to put me off smoking Shisha temporarily. (Of course not, Smoking shisha is my part-time job).

On this note, I am writing this blog to share my views on the several genres of music that could give your shisha smoking experience an extra spice. Remember, they are my views – could conflict with yours. I randomly conducted a survey on the choice of music for a smoke whilst in my regular café. This is what I gathered:

R & B

Most of you expected R&B to be first choice right? Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce were the few names I gathered. (You might think I asked girls only – of course not). Imagine the sound of ‘We found love’ or ‘Born this way’ just when you’re about to start your smoke. For you girls, picture yourself having a good smoke whilst the DJ steams the beat of ‘Run the World (girls)’.

Automatically, the groove is on and you are motivated to exhale your smoke to the beat of the song.

Arabic Jams

For those of you who read the blog on the history of shisha, you would find out that shisha was originated from the Arabic countries. So no doubt that many of us would love some Arabic jams whilst having a smoke. Some suitable tracks in this genre are: ‘Baghdad’ by Bernard Herrmann, Any Nancy Ajram track, classical arrabic, ‘Mundian to Bach Ke’ (a.k.a Beware of the Boys) and other recent tunes by Panjabi MC or Matisyahu. Also, many of us would fancy Arabic techno.

Jazz

For ultra-chill, how about Bohren & Der club of Gore? The ambiance will be all over the place.

Hip/Hop

Many of us like to smoke and rap to the lines of Drake, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, especially if you get the flow right. If you smoking at a lounge/café, how would you feel if everyone is singing to the same song? That would definitely get you going.

Bashment

Every lounge would play bashment at some point during their hours. You need some tunes by Vybz Kartel to keep you in the mood. As for the ladies, the majority will rise from their seats, heading for the dance floor.

Classics (Instrumentals)

In as much as we all love some ambiance whilst having a smoke, sometimes all we need is a quite environment to tick all the boxes when it comes to shisha smoking. You might have had a bad day at work and counting on the hookah to relieve you of the stress. You definitely need some smooth, soothing jams. How about classics by Floyd, Zeppelin and the Stones?

These recommendations are well suited to those who rely on music to get the best out of you. Might not work out for you. For others, the music isn’t really an issue because the hookah tends to enhance whatever mood they already in .It’s fair to say that music has a great part to play.

Sorry for the delay in publishing very enriching blogs. I have been busy visiting and recommending some favourable bars and lounges, forgetting that I have to feed you all with some information valuable to give you the best shisha smoke of your lifetime. My badL

The good news is I now have better insights as I took out time to visit popular and emerging shisha lounges across the UK. As a matter of fact, I was present for the opening of Vapour Lounge. Check out their page Vapour Shisha Lounge

On with the show.

We all know shisha smoking is a very recreational activity especially when you are able to blow out monster clouds and bubbles. What if in the course of having a smoke, you get frail and flavourless smoke?

Personally, if that happened to me, I am going to bail out. LOLJ. To solve this problem, I’ve identified a few potential reasons that might have prompted this mix-up.

Your hookah might be leaking

Most of you will ignore this – it is understandable because we sometimes are in a hurry to get the ecstasy of the shisha experience. Check your shisha tube for any leaks. You will always get thin smoke if air is penetrating into your shisha. This is because:

Fresh air is mixing up with the array and weakening the smoke.

Because air has penetrated, there isn’t any heat to warm up the coals that produce the smoke.

Double-check your heat

This actually has to be the 1st reason. If there’s no heat, how do you expect to get smoke? (Some of you have your heads down now). The amount of coal you use will depend on the size of your bowl. For instance a single lemon coal won’t be enough heat unless you are using a tiny bowl. Modern-styled tobaccos produce heat easily so all you need is the appropriate amount of coal. 2 pieces of coal should be enough to give you an excellent smoke.

How old is your shisha and tobacco?

This is pretty obvious – the older your shisha/tobacco, the less smoke it exhales. If you’re still using the same shisha your parents used then it’s high time you do some retailers some good – check online for some good deals on shisha tubes and fresh tobacco.

In summary, if you have a modern shisha with the appropriate amount of coal, then you are set to go. Enjoy your smoke and stay tuned as I will be releasing more blogs regularly.
